Lovely bio.
A rivetting, heartwrenching account of a man whose utter fineness of character, genius and great gifts somehow survived and emerged from a childhood of great cruelty and desolation. It is only fitting that he had a daughter with the insight, talent and love to bring this extraordinary man to life.
Interesting but vague. So many details without a beginning for this man.
The story of a man of character and compassion in spite of growing up in an abusive home. I'm glad Carolyn had the persistence and courage to investigate his life so that the truth could be known. She is leaving "no stone unturned" to find out who her real grandfather was. I hope a sequel is forthcoming!

Awesome story ! Very very inspiring !!! My beloved grandpa AJ endured intense emotional and physical pain as a child , that continued to haunt him into his adulthood . However, his immense inner strength and the love of his wife and kids , helped to ease the emotional pain of the horrific memories of the HELL he lived in as a child. To those who hurt him , GOD will hold you accountable one day !!! I strongly recommend to everyone . Easy read too. Can finish in 3 hours max. LOVED THE BOOK ! JULIE BERNTHOLD, COLS. OHIO .
